Day 1 – Tuesday 20 March 2018 (D) Melbourne/Sydney – Alice Springs / Sightseeing tour of Alice Springs
Welcome to Rodney Vincent’s sing and dance along tour of the outback! Your driver will meet you at Alice Springs airport and take you on a sightseeing tour of the beating heart of Australia’s red centre – the town affectionately known as “the Alice” before arriving at your hotel and enjoying a welcome dinner. Accommodation: Diplomat Hotel or similar (2 nights).
Day 2 – Wednesday 21 March 2018 (B, L) West MacDonnell Ranges Tour
Enjoy breakfast this morning before heading out on a full day tour of the West MacDonnell Ranges. You will spend the day exploring the stunning scenery of areas such as Simpsons Gap, Standley Chasm, Ormiston Gorge and Glen Helen. Enjoy lunch included in the tour of the West MacDonnell Ranges today followed by dinner at your own arrangements at the hotel tonight.
Day 3 – Thursday 22 March 2018 (B, L) Alice Springs – Uluru / Field of Lights
Board the bus this morning for the scenic 4 hour drive to Uluru. Enjoy an afternoon exploring at leisure before heading out to a special location for a view of Uluru as the sunsets. As darkness gradually falls witness 50,000 coloured spheres come to life before your eyes in the display known as the Field of Lights. Returning to the raised viewing area 30 minutes prior to departure for sparkling wine and canapes whilst viewing the illuminated installation in the darkness. Accommodation: Outback Pioneer Motel (2 nights).
Day 4 – Friday 23 March 2018 (B, L) Sunrise Tour of Uluru / Kata Tjuta Tour & Sunset
An early start this morning is rewarded with an Uluru sunrise. While the morning is fresh enjoy a walk around the base of the rock. After lunch travel on to Kata Tjuta. Spend some time here wandering around the site’s red rock domes on a guided walk, then finish the day toasting the outback’s famous Uluru sunset. Transfer back to the hotel and enjoy dinner at leisure followed by a sing and dance along with Rodney.
Day 5 – Saturday 24 March 2018 (B, L) Drive to Coober Pedy
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning board the bus for the southbound trip through to Coober Pedy. Arrive Coober Pedy and check in to the underground Desert Caves Hotel. Dinner tonight is at leisure. Accommodation: Desert Caves Hotel (2 nights).
Day 6 – Sunday 25 March 2018 (B, L) Coober Pedy Sightseeing including Opal Mine Tour / Sunset Canapes
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before spending the day exploring Coober Pedy. Visit the historic Old Timers Mine, display galleries, two underground homes and witness precious seams of opal, while the Umoona Mine & Museum contains an underground house, Aboriginal interpretive centre, panoramic theatre, historic displays, opal retailing shop and showroom plus Aboriginal arts and crafts. Travel out to “Breakaways” for sunset canapes followed by dinner tonight at leisure.
Day 7 – Monday 26 March 2018 (B, L, D) Drive to William Creek / Optional scenic flight over Lake Eyre
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for William Creek and the stunning Lake Eyre Basin. Your accommodation tonight is the famous William Creek Hotel – voted #2 Outback Pub in Australia. The front bar is uniquely decorated by travellers from all over the world with memorabilia and tonight Rodney will be performing in it. Kick up your heals in this iconic pub! Accommodation: William Creek Hotel or similar (1 Night).
Day 8 – Tuesday 27 March 2018 (B, L) Flinders Rangers National Park / Australiana Sing Along under the stars
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for the Flinders Ranges and Wilpena Pound. Dinner tonight is at leisure followed by an Australiana sing along under the outback stars with singer/song writer John O’Dea. (weather permitting). Accommodation: Wilpena Pound Resort (2 nights).
Day 9 – Wednesday 28 March 2018 (B, L) Full Day Tour exploring Flinders Rangers National Park
Enjoy breakfast this morning before setting out to discover the spectacular Flinders Ranges National Park on a full day tour. Return to Wilpena Pound Resort this afternoon and enjoy dinner at leisure.
Day 10 – Thursday 29 March 2018 (B, L, D) Clare Valley / Farewell Dinner with guest performance from Dave Prior
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before saying farewell to the Flinders Rangers and journey further south through the mid-north historic region of South Australia to the Clare Valley. Enjoy tasting some of the wines that this region is famous for before arriving at your accommodation, Clare Country Club. A farewell dinner has been organised tonight at a local winery with the final sing and dance along with Rodney and variety entertainer Dave Prior. Accommodation: Clare Country Club (1 night).
Day 11 – Friday 30 March 2018 (B) Adelaide – Melbourne/Sydney
Rise early this morning to check out of the accommodation and transfer down to Adelaide for your departure flight home to Melbourne.
